Escondido Artist Invited to Exhibit at the 2003 Florence International Biennial of Contemorary Art .
Francisco Velasco, an International artist living in Escondido , California, has been invited to exhibit his paintings in Italy for the fourth edition of the Biennale Internazionale della Arte Contemporanea di Firenze. ( Florence International Biennial of Contemporary Art) opening at the Fortezza Basso on December 6, 2003.
Velasco was nominated to the highly acclaimed list of Biennale artists by an International jury lead by artistic director Dr. John Spike ( Princeton art critic and historian), to participate in the nine day exhibit with more than eight hundred artists from all over the world. The Biennale is an official participant with the United Nation's "Dialogue among Civilizations" program, and Velasco's art was selected for the quality of his creative work and the cultural and ethnic values it represents
